Play Types

The play type you select determines how much you can win and your odds. Find out more about each of the available methods.

Straight

Also known as an Exact Order play, this type of wager requires you to match the winning numbers in the correct positions. For example, if you play 123, the winning numbers have to appear as 123. If they were drawn in another order, such as 132, your wager would be lost.

Box

A Box play allows you to match the numbers in any order and win. There are two different ways to play a Box – 3-Way or 6-Way. This refers to the number combination you select.

A 3-Way has three ways to win and contains two identical numbers, for example 177 (which can also be ordered 717 or 771). If you choose three different numbers, this is known as a 6-Way because there are six possible winning combinations. For example 123 can be arranged 123, 132, 213, 231, 312 or 321.

Straight/Box

Straight/Box plays have a fixed cost of $1. Half of the money goes on a Straight play and half on a Box. You win both parts of the wager if the numbers are drawn in the exact order you specify, or just the Box prize if they are drawn in a different order.

Combo

With a Combo, you are submitting a Straight play for every combination of numbers within your selection. For example, if you pick the numbers 012, you are playing a series of Straights – 012, 021, 102, 120, 201 and 210. You win the equivalent prize as a Straight if any of these combinations is drawn. The cost goes up for each combination of numbers played, so it can range from $1.50 to $3 for a 3-Way Combo, or $3 to $6 for a 6-Way Combo.
